Nissan Stadium visitor guide: everything you need to know - Bounce (1)

There’s no better place in the world to put a stadium than downtown Nashville. Nissan Stadium, the home of the Tennessee Titans, is a massive sports and entertainment venue situated right in the heart of Music City. With a seating capacity of almost 70,000, Nissan Stadium also functions as a premier live music venue hosting the biggest touring acts in the world.

Overlooking the Cumberland River, Nissan Stadium’s beautiful setting is pleasant to walk around. The location near Nashville’s bustling downtown makes for ideal dining and nightlife adventures pre or post-game. If you’re heading into town for a game or show, you’ll want to find time to explore bustling areas like The Gulch, Midtown, and Downtown.

Like many venues these days, security measures have called for strict bag policies at Nissan Stadium, so it’s advisable to plan ahead. If you’re visiting Nashville and are stuck with your bags, head to a Nissan Stadium luggage storage. Bounce has dozens of locations around downtown and a few near Nissan Stadium.

Nissan Stadium bag policy

The Nissan Stadium bag policy is very strict, with basically every type of bag prohibited except for single-compartment clutch purses smaller than 4.5" x 6.5.” This obviously makes all backpacks, luggage, briefcases, and large items a no-go for Nissan Stadium.

If you have a clear bag that’s 12" x 12" x 6" or smaller, this is your best option. This can be anything from a clear cinch sack to diaper bags or even ziploc bags. You won’t have to empty it out for security screening, either.

The Nissan Stadium clear bag policy is also strict and in effect for all Titans games as well as concerts or other events. Because of the policy, you’ll want to arrange a secure place to store any luggage or non-compliant items. Bounce’s Broadway Storage Spot is well-situated for drop-offs on your way to the game.

Nissan Stadium food policy

Aside from one empty water bottle per customer, all outside food and drinks are prohibited from Nissan Stadium. The Nissan Stadium food policy does make medical exceptions, so those will need to be approved at guest services.

While you’ll have to leave the tuna salad sandwiches at home, you won't have to go hungry during the game. Nissan Stadium’s concessions and dining options are top-notch, with a wide variety of tasty snacks on offer. From Nashville BBQ to gluten-free and vegan bites (found at Wild Cow), there’s everything your tastebuds can dream of at Nissan Stadium.

It’s absolutely worth checking out Nashville’s stellar street food scene before (or, more importantly, after) the game. Tailgating is also common, so you can fire up the grill while you party before the game.

Nissan Stadium transportation

The stadium's central location in downtown Nashville makes it really simple to figure out how to get to Nissan Stadium from most parts of the city, and it’s especially close to the best cultural offerings and attractions. Here are the best ways to get to Nissan Stadium:

Driving

If you are coming from the suburbs or from out of town, you’ll likely be driving to Nissan Stadium. The stadium is surrounded by parking lots, and tailgating is a popular way to pregame for Titans games. The parking lots usually open about four hours prior to kickoff.

Nissan Stadium is conveniently located near US Highway 41 and I-24. While there will be traffic on game days, it’s really quick once you get off the highway.

Taxi and rideshare

Uber and Lyft are very convenient to call from most areas in Nashville. Taxis aren’t as common, but you’ll be able to hail them downtown or have your hotel call one.

Public transportation

Nashville's public transportation system is limited to bus service, but it’s a reliable way to get to Nissan Stadium. The Nashville Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) runs the #23 and #4 routes near the stadium.

Walking to Nissan Stadium

From downtown, Nissan Stadium is less than a 20-minute walk from most hotels. Even better, it’s a scenic walk along the riverfront.

Nissan Stadium camera policy

The Nissan Stadium camera policy limits all guests without media credentials to cameras with 6” lenses or less. All video cameras, GoPros, selfie sticks, monopods, tripods, drones, and other professional gear are prohibited as well.

Nissan Stadium rules

Banners and signs

As per the Nissan Stadium policies, signs and banners cannot exceed 28” x 22” so that they don’t block or bother the view of other guests. Guest services and security also have the right to confiscate or refuse entry for any sign that does not pertain to the event, or has content that is commercial or political in nature. Flags, signs, and banners cannot be affixed to sticks or poles.

Prohibited items

Common stadium items like seat cushions, folding chairs, umbrellas, horns, and whistles are all prohibited at Nissan Stadium. For families, large strollers and baby seats will need to be checked at the gate.

Entry

Mobile tickets are the only method of entry accepted at Nissan Stadium. If you purchase a ticket at the box office and cannot use a mobile ticketing application on your phone, you can have a hard ticket printed for a $5 fee. The box office is open three hours prior to the start of a game or event for ticket sales and resolution.

Payment

Nissan Stadium has gone completely cashless for concessions and merchandise sales. Mobile payment methods like Google Pay and Apple Pay are accepted at most points of sale. For guests without credit or debit cards, there are cash conversion kiosks where you can convert paper money (in increments of $20, $50, and $100) into a gift card that can be used in Nissan Stadium.

Conclusion

From fabulous shopping to exciting nightlife to informative museums, there’s something for basically everyone in this Nashville. For sports fans, in particular, there’s one of the best stadiums in the world to catch a game or show - Nissan Stadium.
